EUGENE TRINH, Ph.D.

EUGENE TRINH is a group supervisor at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California. Born in Saigon, Dr. Trinh received his Ph.D. in applied physics from Yale (USA). As an astronaut, he flew aboard Columbia (STS-50) for 14 days in 1992 and carried out a series of experiments focusing on low gravity. He served in Johnson's Payload Operations Center during STS-51B in 1985 (Spacelab-3), communicating with the payload crews. His research has focused on fluid dynamics of freely levitated liquids and physical properties of undercooled molten materials. He is the author of more than 40 scientific publications, has presented more than 80 conference papers, and holds 6 patents.
