HAI VAN TRAN, Ph.D.

Hai Van Tran holds the B.A. degree in Education, the B.A. degree in Psycho-linguistics. He received the M.S. degree in E.E. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Ph.D.degree in E.E. from the George Washington University. Dr. Tran has over 13 years of work experience in the electrical engineering field, especially in the communications and telecommunications areas. Currently, he is doing research in multimedia wireless networks at The Mitre Corporation, VA. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the George Washington University and George Mason University. Dr. Tran received a number of awards. He holds a patent concerning a Random Access Protocol for Multimedia Networks. He is a founding member of VACETS. He was the President of the VACETS Engineering Society, and an advisor to VACETS during the terms 1994-1995 and 1995-1996, respectively.
