LIEM XUAN DANG, Ph.D.

Dr. Liem Xuan Dang ([email protected]) has over 11 years of work experience. He curently is a Chief Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL is one of nine Department of Energy National Laboratories), Richland, WA (USA). Prior to joining PNNL, he was a Visiting Scientist at IBM Almaden Research Center, San Jose, CA. Dr. Dang received his B.S. degree with Honors in Chemistry (1980) from Florida Institute of Technology, and earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (1985) from the University of California, Irvine. He has authored or co-authored more than 45 publications that have focused on the development and use of molecular dynamics computer simulation techniques to study molecular systems including liquid water, ionic solvation and ion association in aqueous solution, free energies for amino acid mutations in proteins, ion-ligand complexation, properties of liquid interfaces.
