TIEN MANH NGUYEN, Ph.D.

Tien Manh Nguyen received B.S.E. and M.S.E. from California State University of Fullerton; M.S.E.E. from University of California at San Diego, Ph.D.E.E. from Columbia Pacific University; M.A. in Mathematics and Ph.D. in Engineering Mathematics from the Claremont Graduate School. Dr. Tien has been a Certified Manufacturing Technologist and Certified EMC Engineer since 1984 and 1990, respectively. Currently, he is an Engineering Specialist at Aerospace Corporation. Prior to joining Aerospace Corporation, he held a number of technical and management positions at Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, ITT Educational Services, West Covina, CA. Dr. Nguyen published more than 65 conference and journal papers. Some of his works appeared in the most recent text book entitled "Digital Communication Techniques, Signal Design and Detection," published by Prentice Hall, 1995. Dr. Nguyen received numerous awards which included San Diego Fellowship, California State University Foundation award, Best Dissertation of the Year award, Bendix Management Club award, two IEEE awards, three NASA honor awards, twenty-three NASA TechBrief awards and hold one patent. He served as NASA/JPL delegate to the international Consultative Committee for Space Data System (CCSDS) from 1986 to 1996, and editor for the CCSDS Proceedings on RF and Modulation from 1989 to 1993. He has also served as a reviewer for many international conferences and journals, such as ICC, GlobCom, International Conference on EMC, IEEE Transactions on Communications, and IEE Proceedings. Dr. Nguyen was an elected member of Phi Kapa Phi, Sigma Xi, New York Academy of Sciences and American Association for Advancement of Science. He is also a senior member of IEEE and AIAA. His biography has appreared in many "Who's Who" published by Marquis, ABI and IBC. Dr. Nguyen was the General Co-chair of VTIC �96.
