Hung Nguyen, Ph.D.

Dr. Hung Nguyen received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland in 1980, an M.S. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1983, and a Ph.D. in Information Technology from George Mason University in 1994. His career path has been in technical positions with companies such as MedAcoustics Inc., Booz-Allen-Hamilton Inc., Orincon Corporation, Raytheon.. He is currently on the technical staff at Aerospace Corporation working in communications and networking problems. In addition to the private industry, Dr. Nguyen was a Visiting Research Scientist at George Mason University performing research in array signal processing. Dr. Nguyen has twenty years of combined experience RF & acoustics signal processors, telecommunications networks, and in software design & development for a variety communications and signal processing systems. His areas of interest are in communications, radar, sonar & array signal processing, cellular & PCS systems, telecommunications networks and real-time systems.
On VACETS activities, Dr. Nguyen has served as Board of Director (ExecCom) member for the terms 1997-1998 and 1998-1999. He was also the Chair of the Promotion & Public Relations Committee for 1996-1997. He participated in VTIC 1996, VTIC 1997 as speakers and VTIC 2000 as speaker and session chair. He also published in VACETS Technical Journal 1997.
