CALL FOR PAPERS AND PARTICIPATION

"Technologies and Industries That Will Prevail in the New Era"

The Vietnamese Association for Computing, Engineering, Technology and Science (VACETS) is holding a technical conference on May 10 & 11, 2002, at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia, USA.


The organizing committee of VTIC2002 invites contributions in, but not limited to, the following areas:

For Technical Papers and Tutorials:

1.       Biomedical and Medical Technologies
2.       Computer Systems and Applications
3.       Energy and Environmental Technologies
4.       Materials and Manufacturing Technologies
5.       Space Technologies
6.       Telecommunications and Networking
7.       Mathematics and Physics
8.       Other Sciences, Engineering and Technologies

For Workshops:

1.       Industry-academic relations among Vietnamese professionals and students
2.      
Effective networking among Vietnamese professionals and students.
3.      
How to prepare ourselves for the technical challenges of the 21st century.
4.       How to prepare our children for a technical career in the 21st century.

For Panel Discussions:

1.       Impact of technology of the new era on society and lifestyle.
2.      
The presence and future of Electronic Commerce.
3.       Impact of new medical discoveries and biomedical techniques on healthcare systems.

Suggestions and inquiries should be sent to Dr. Hung H. Nguyen at [email protected]. Abstracts for technical sessions should be sent to Dr. Hai Tran at [email protected] no later than February 15, 2002. Proposed tutorials, workshops and panel topics should be sent to Mr. Hung Vu at [email protected] no later than March 15, 2002. Full papers for technical sessions must be submitted no later than March 15, 2002 to Mr. James Lap at [email protected]. Please indicate your preferred area and forum (technical, tutorial, workshop, or panel discussion).

  • February 15, 2001 - Abstracts Due
  • March 15, 2002 - Papers Due
  • March 29, 2002 - Tentative Program Announcement
  • April 26, 2002 - Final Program Announcement
  • May 10 - 11, 2002 - Conference

GUIDELINES FOR CAMERA READY PAPER SUBMISSIONS


Submissions must be in English on the official form (downloadable) via electronic mail to Dr. Hai Tran and Mr. James T. Lap, and should be attached to the E-mail message using Word 7 or Word 97 for Windows.

Please note the following instructions for the preparation of papers:

1.       Papers must be typed in single spacing, 12-pitch character, and 'portrait' page set-up

2.    Size limits: Document borders should form a rectangle of 13 cm (5.2") width and 18 cm (7.4") length. 
       It should include the title, author(s), and affiliation.      

3.       Page limit: Papers should contain no more than 15 pages total.

4.       Format:

(a)   Font: We recommend Helvetica size 10.

(b)     Title should be typed in capital letters.

(c)     Graphics, tables and charts within the paper are accepted.

(d)     Please do not send separated photographs.

Please make sure that all information requested on the paper also appears on your e-mail (i.e. full address for return correspondence, requested symposia title etc.)
